Anipal Photo Hunt: From Where I Stand...

This was my back garden last winter when we got a rare heavy snowfall! We live on the coast, so usually the salt air melts the snow before it gets too bad, and it doesn't get super-chilly either.

I wasn't keen on going out in that, I can tell you! Far too icy for my delicate paws ;)

Anipal Photo Hunt - Trick or Treat!

BOO!!!

Did I scare you? It's nearly Hallowe'en, so of course our thoughts turn to ghosties and ghoulies and long-leggedy beasties and things that go BUMP! in the night...

My Hallowe'en pic this year is proper scary. It's me as a tumshie-heidit cat in a graveyard - SPOOKERS!!!

Check out the gravestone - they don't make 'em like that any more! It came from a holiday NJ and Mr L took where the cottage they stayed in formed part of the cemetery wall and there were headstones right up against it... NJ says she was scared to look out of the windows at night in case she saw ghosts. Spooooookyyyyyyy....

Check out this link to see my photo with added lightning effects, done by @BadAndy_KityKat - now it's even spookier!

Anipal Photo Hunt #6: Adopt A Less-Adoptable Pet Week Challenge

Friends, I would like to introduce you to Miss Smokie. She is a lovely torbie girl of around 12-14 years old, and she currently lives at Sunny Harbour Cat and Kitten Rescue in Lochgelly, Scotland.

Isn't she beautiful? NJ has visited her at the shelter, and she says that Smokie was ever so friendly, and even licked her hand!

You can find out more about Miss Smokie here.

Anipal Photo Hunt #4: My Bed!

Ah, a subject dear to my heart! As I'm sure many of you know, anything can be a cat bed.

I used to curl up in this plastic box in the evenings, so when NJ and Mr L wanted me to go downstairs for the night, they'd have to carry me in the box, MOL!

I do love to curl up in the grass on a warm day. Unfortunately, there are bitey insects who live in the grass, and I'm allergic to them :( This summer I had to get antibiotics and steroids, I got bitten so badly!

I can't resist an open door or drawer. I climbed in here when Mr L was putting his laundry away, and he didn't have the heart to move me! Even when I kept him and NJ awake with my snoring - erm, I mean sleep-purring!

It's hard to beat a nice cosy human lap for sleeps. If you try your best to look super-cute, they'll let you stay there all evening ;)

The upstairs windowsill is great for keeping an eye on things in the neighbourhood - or for napping while staying visible to all the other cats!

You know, this post has made me quite sleepy - I think I'll go for a nap now! Zzzzzzzzzz...

How it all began

The duckie songs started at a pawpawty last year. Grimy Duck had been in a nomming booth all day ("Pay a Buck to Nom the Duck!!!") and had gotten a bit, well, merry from all the niptini-slobber ;) He escaped from the booth and streaked round the pawpawty while Manxington and Sekurity Captain Snick the Dog chased after him. Luckily I was able to catch him as he ran past me, and once we had him under control, I sang him a couple of lullabyes to send him off to dreamland while the effects wore off.

"Go to sleep, go to sleep
Go to sleep, Grimy Duckie
Go to sleep, go to sleep
We will nom on you some more!"

"Rock-a-bye Grimy in Manxington's paws
You've had too much nip and you're showing some flaws
But just go to sleep and snuggle in bed
And Snickers will come to nom on your head!"

And the rest is history...
